Background

Taught in EYFS for five years and KS1 for two years.

EYFS leader for three years and KS1 Phase leader for one year on SLT at a large three-form entry academy.

Close working relationships with LA to develop and improve EYFS networks and CPD across the city, as well as moderating profile outcomes.

Impact

Profile outcomes for % children at GLD in top five schools across the LA in the last two years.

Part of teams in two schools supporting in EYFS practice who received a subsequent Good rating from ofsted following visits.

Led a successful EYFS foundation partnership pilot in conjunction with 4Children and the DfE. Contributed towards published research and case studies to develop city wide practice.

Interests

EYFS – Moderation, data analysis & impact, developing effective provision (indoors and outdoors) and staff interactions.

KS1 – Transition from EYFS, developing challenge in provision, Mastery for Mathematics in KS1, outdoor learning.

Engagement – parental engagement, EYFS networks and partnerships, community access schemes.

Deployments

Over the last 3 years Ben has been deployed to support numerous EYFS and KS1 practitioners, as well as school leaders, in schools across East and North Yorkshire.

2015/16 – Deployed to support EYFS and KS1 Practice in East Yorkshire schools.

2016-2017 – Deployed as part of a team in a two-form entry coastal school in North Yorkshire to support EYFS leader in developing practice.

2017-2018 – Deployed to support the SLT of a two-form entry primary, specifically with the leadership of the EYFS. Supported through ofsted monitoring.
