Applications for both Primary and Secondary programmes must be submitted via the UCAS website.  To submit your application click here, the training provider code for Ebor Hope Teaching Schools Alliance is 1DH.

Selection and assessment

Selection is based on evidence provided throughout the application process including your personal statement, references, a detailed breakdown of degree content and details of other academic, professional or vocational qualifications.


Interview days will typically include:


  • a short teaching activity
  • an individual personal interview
  • a group activity (depending on number of candidates)
  • a literacy based task
  • a guided tour of a school


At the interview stage your personal qualities as well as your academic qualifications will be considered in helping us identify and meet your training needs.


All successful applicants will also need to obtain an enhanced DBS check and the successful completion of a medical questionnaire

Fees & Funding

Tuition fees for both the Primary and Secondary school-centred (School Direct) PGCE programme are £9,250. You may be eligible for a tax free bursary or scholarship to support your training.

Academic and Mentor Support

Our Primary and Secondary Directors oversee the operational elements of the School Direct programme to ensure a high quality of provision for Ebor Hope teachers in all our schools.

School Experience Programme

We’d love to meet you before you apply to our School Direct programme. The School Experience Programme (SEP) gives you an opportunity to meet and observe the teachers and pupils we work with.
