Academic and Mentor Support

Our Primary and Secondary Directors oversee the operational elements of the Schools Direct programme to ensure a high quality of provision for Ebor Hope teachers in all our schools.

Support is an integral part of developing and nurturing Ebor Hope trainees to be outstanding teachers. You will be supported by a school mentor as well as a School Based Link Mentor (SBLM) who is based within one of our schools, and will be in regular contact through informal visits and joint appraisals.

You will also be allocated an academic tutor from the York St John University to support with writing at Masters Level. In addition, students have full access to the Student Support Services offered by the University.

I have had a really positive experience so far, the link with the university and school is seamless. The department I am in is very welcoming and the support I am getting is great. My mentor is also very experienced and knowledgeable which is great when I need help or advice. I would encourage others to train with Ebor Hope TSA because it is a programme which provides unlimited support and has great links to schools.
