Moving Towards Mastery Teaching

A new course that aims to help participants reflect upon and then refine their practice. An opportunity for teachers early in their career to engage in a vibrant, supportive but challenging teaching and learning community.

Participants will:

  • Receive three sessions of high quality training on how to assimilate Lemov’s ideas
  • Have time to reflect upon the training, plan lessons and refine their practice
  • Video their lessons and share those videos with the other participants for further reflection
  • Have the opportunity to share their experience and lead some of the training
  • Produce a reflective diary which linked with evidence of positive lesson observations demonstrates that progress has been made in the participant’s practice

Aims

  1. To use Doug Lemov’s ‘Teach Like a Champion’ as a central resource to enable us all to trial new teaching and learning strategies
  2. To enable participants reflect upon and then refine their own practice
  3. To provide teachers, early in their career, to engage in a vibrant, supportive but also challenging teaching and learning community
