22 Feb Sports England Funding supports innovation
Successful bid to support PE colleagues
Sarah Denham and Fiona Lee from Barlby High School along with the EborHope Teaching Schools Alliance have successfully secured Lottery funding from Sport England.
The programme aims to:
- Help teaching professionals to better support inactive young people and adapt delivery to ensure that all young people have a positive experience of PE and school sport.
- Reinforce the relevance of PE and school sport to wider school outcomes such as: attendance, behaviour, achievement and student’s resilience with school leaders, governors and parents.
The funding will support eight schools: Barlby High School (pictured above), Vale of York Academy, Manor CE Academy, George Pindar School, Graham School, St Augustines School, Filey School and All Saints Roman Catholic School. Sarah Denham from Barlby High, will lead the programme.
Thanks to the Project Leads who attended the first meeting. We’ll keep you updated with progress across the programme.
